To ensure that you travel with even more comfort, SWISS is consequently investing in the infrastructure and expansion of its services. Modern aircraft, brand new SWISS lounges, a newly designed Terminal 1 in Zurich, a SWISS First Welcome Service for arriving long-haul flight guests and many other innovations that enable SWISS to get a good deal closer to the journey of the future. This is because unique high-altitude flights do not begin when on board an aircraft, the journey begins upon entering the airport.
Reduce complexity, increase comfort
Frequent flyers are already very familiar with the airport. However, not everyone flies with SWISS every week to one or more of the 100 different destinations that are flown to around the world. In order to facilitate travel for you, Terminal 1 at Zurich Airport will be redesigned. The rebuilt check-in area is more inviting and well-arranged as a result of the accents used such as light oak wood, atmospheric lamps and welcome boards in five different languages that can be found in the SWISS lounges. Even the desk concept for groups, families and premium guests will be modernised and redesigned. We will also set-up waiting areas in both the north and south portal of the airport. The basic idea behind it all was very simple: Reducing the complexity of a journey, increasing the level of comfort for all flight guests in all travel classes and creating a consistent brand experience at the same time.
SWISS First Lounge A
The meaning of seamless travel becomes evident in the new SWISS First Lounge A. On 650 square meters, just a few steps away from the SWISS First Check-in Lounge, you will be welcomed into a luxurious atmosphere away from the airport activity. You can also drop off your luggage here and use the exclusive security lane available to Swiss First guest or HON Circle members. Drop of your coats at the cloakroom free of charge. These can be safely locked using a credit card or a code – and can be reopened when you return. If you are still waiting to board a long-haul flight, our limousine service will take you directly to Dock E. But even after landing in Zurich, the new SWISS Lounge is not far away: With the exclusive SWISS First Welcome Service you will be welcomed at the aircraft doors as guests of Swiss First and will be driven to the SWISS First Lounge A or baggage claim.
Lounge Center A
On 2nd July, the new Lounge Center A opened its doors. It offers guests at Zurich Airport a modern environment, where they can enjoy every last minute of their stay while waiting for their next flight. The SWISS Business and Senator Lounges with separate entrances have many things in common, such as a high table for socialising that nestles up against the transparent atrium and invites your to rest and relax. A high arched ceiling and the impressive chrome tubes give the SWISS lounges their distinctive market hall features. The zone concept divides the SWISS lounges into functional areas, which are in no way inferior to the design and offer even more seating areas. The front-cooking area provides for culinary delights and the spaces available can also be used to work without any disturbance. And where once the longest served bar of the world was located, there are now relaxation loungers and lounge suites with view of the incoming planes. An outdoor area is also available for smokers. Waiting has never been so enjoyable.
